as i was leaving the kh where i watched the meeting, i overheard several conversations, all to the effect that"what a great bunch of guys the gb is.
" the sense of humor among them, the naturalness and ease they had while speaking, etc.. for that matter, i too, was impressed at how like able they seem to be and, believe it or not, the 3 1/2 hours went by fairly quickly, thank god!
but as i think about it, i'm concluding that that was the main goal of the wide viewing of this event: to assure the rank and file that the gb, the men who are in charge of god's household, are a great bunch of guys.
I have lived with those types of JW's my whole life . Unfortunately it took nearly a lifetime to learn what was behind the facade of niceness . Outlaw pegged it perfectly !!
I know better now ,and know to tread carefully among the wolves in sheep covering .
got caught at the supermarket (in between the martini olives and snack crackers ) with several bottles of hard liquor in my basket along with some red licorice by a sister that has known me for years.

its been a tough 6 months for my jw hubby and myself.
next saturday is our anniversary.

Sadly it sounds like he is 'training ' you quite well to accept his cultish behavior as normal . Are YOU happy with that ? DAzed I didn't realize you lived in Longmont ! I am just sick over all the destruction that has occured in that area . Our son lives in NW Longmont .and called at noon to say there was a warning out to 1000 homes near MacIntosh Lake ( which is very close to him ) . He hasn't been able to reach work in Boulder since Thursday. I hear roads are begining to re-open ,but it also has been raining again all day today ... Hope your home remains safe as well as your family . The aerial views on YouTube from Denver 7 news are just very eye opening to how extensive this disaster really is .....it is going to take a long time to rebuild all that has been lost .esp. the small mountain towns . We usually visit Estes ,Lyons and near Jamestown every summer .

dubs who read it (assuming they have at least one or two brain cells left) will run from their religion like flies on shit when you pour bleach on it and blow it up with dynamite.. toss away crisis of conscience, apocalypse delayed, 30 years a watchtower slave and all those other very nice books and read this one.

I loved Kyria'a book ! One of those books that I actually did laugh out loud while reading . I get her sense of humor .
afterfinding out that my soon to ve ex-husband's jw mom is deathly ill, and that he wont be visiting her ( she lives in anothrr country) after he made plans, i only assumed the jw conscience kicked in.
he must have been summarily disinvited by his father who initially called to inform him that his mother was crying to see him.

her fur is unbelievably soft.. we slept in, got up, had a leisurely breakfast knowing we can go at our own pace, tended the chickens, i called my brother; hubby and i did some housework, played with the cat, and we're off to a lunch date down the local pizza place, knowing we won't have any jws pass by and snub us or look askance at hubby's beard because they're all in brisbane.. it feels a bit funny missing something i've been going to since i was 18, but it also feels good.
Yes Julia I was thinking the same thing today . It was a beautiful sunny day here and I was in the drive way washing and cleaning my car .
I was thinking about how when I was a Witness I use to envy the householders on Saturday morning that were getting chores like this done in a relaxed fashion . I on the other hand was frazzeled because I had to make sure the house was ready for the field service group to meet ,plus make sure my three kids were clean, fed, and ready to go in service . There was never time to really relax ....just pressure ,rush ,move on to the next scheduled meeting ,service ,study . I would choke when the service director would say we could fit everything else in if we served Jehovah first ....I NEVER FOUND that possible .
I absolutely love my free time now and I squander it shamelessly with pride ,and a huge smile on my face !

I like how you think confusedandalone ,but I don't think your name really fits you . You are not too confused if you ask me .
When I left I felt the same way as you ,none of them were my true friends ,and as long as I had my immediate family with me I would be okay . I also liked the fact you let the Elders know their real place which is NOT in charge of your life . I still savor the moment when I let our Elders know that my personal life was none of their business ,and that I would not discuss my personal life with them ....EVER
Good luck with whatever comes next . Suggest your Dad work out a payment plan with the credit companies himself . If he can afford to pay you something every month ,he can afford to just make that payment to his creditors .

That just sickens me ! The way your parents and brother behave is inexcusable . It is time your brother acted like a man and took on some responsiblity himself . Actually you should allow him the blessing of taking over the debt for your parents ,it just might be Jehovah's purpose you know .
